Melanie Maya's post on Goodwall - I always have had this desire in me to perform. When our university orientation happened, for the first time, I watched the Dulaang Oyayi Theatre Arts perform. And right then, I said to myself, "I'll be one of their performers." So when I heard they were open for new members to audition, I grabbed the chance and just went there with shaky hands. I wasn't good at singing, but they made me sing, and I find it funny now whenever my shaky voice, singing the song "Somewhere only we know," comes across my head. I wasn't good at impromptu dancing, but they made me do it. I know my acting skills will at least give me the leverage of passing the audition. However I did not exepect that they will love it. And I did pass! I am officially a performer of Dulaang Oyayi Theatre and Arts! The negative thought of not passing the audition and just embarrassing myself will never stop me. If I didn't try how will I know, right? Just gotta do it to find out. It was all worth it. Now, I make friends with my seniors, they're all willing to help me, and we joke with each other nonstop.
