My friends and I shot a five minute short film surrounding one man's paranoia and his incredibly fast decline, titled The Door. This took two months of hard work, time scheduling and making sure we had the correct financing around the project, but the outcome was fantastic. I learnt how to handle lighting and audio equipment whilst becoming accustomed to filming with a video camera. Although the original cut was 15 minutes, we edited it to 5 and sent it off- only to be returned with an email telling us we had made it! The film festival gave us insight to other's ideas and their stylistic preferences, before meeting important producers from Warner Brothers and theatre actors who expressed a liking to our short. Filled with gratitude and thankful for how well the evening went, we then participated in a film workshop where we learnt script analysis, lighting angles (3 point) and made a scene ourselves, improving our confidence in the area. Anyway, it was fantastic and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We are aiming to shoot another short film very soon!
