My name is Ellen and, together with my friend Maísa Bitencourt we are participating as finalists of the FBJC - Brazilian Fair of Young Scientists, with our project “System with Accessibility for Substitutions and Exchange of Classes”. This project aims to develop a web system with accessibility, for the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the Mato Grosso do Sul Dourados Campus, to assist teachers in requesting replacement and exchange of classes. Currently, on the IFMS Dourados campus, most forms and official documents are filled out manually on printed paper. Thinking of a way to speed up this procedure and make it more sustainable, we decided to develop a system to help teachers fill out replacement and exchange of classes forms. Considering that in Brazil, only 1% of websites are accessible to people with disabilities, we decided to implement accessibility to the system, which will be developed based on the recommendations of the Accessibility Guidelines for Web Content, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Finally, the development of our project will help the institution, speeding up the filling of forms and ensuring that people with disabilities have access to technology, communication and information.
