Smart Wisdom's post on Goodwall - TERMINATE FALSE EVIIDENCE APPEARING REAL. We live in a society defined by insecurities. We fear the loss of our jobs, our health, our money, our relationships, our sense of control. Since we fear most that which is unknown to us, defining moments can occur when we choose to know our fears. Fear keeps us the background, convincing us we can never accomplish our dreams. It is the voice of fear that tells us to keep quiet and to stay within our comfort zones. Without questions, it is fear that stops us in our tracks toward our goals and limits what we are willing to pay try. For many, it is fear that leads to smaller lives. But fear can also motivate us. Fear itself cannot harm us, or at least, it can only harm us if we let it. Fear alone cannot stop us or lessen our impact. We must feel fear to understand fearlessness. We must, at times, walk through it to lead. Getting through fear is a skill that anyone can learn. The problem is that most people cling to their fears, because they believe it's a part of who they are. If you are not ready to face your fears, you probably won't transcend them. Whatever fears your facing, remember that the only thing that matters is that you listen to yourself, and your inner GPS. While I think overcoming fear is a learned skill, I also believe that it takes time. If you find yourself rushing, take it easy. It is not necessarily about getting rid of your fears, because resisting your fears only makes them bigger.
