1. Teaching regular syllabus alongside related real life problems.
2. Guiding the students to use their knowledge to creatively solve these problems.

Habiba Erinfolami from Ibadan

Challenge: #Pitch
Date: September 18, 2020
Prize: $500

Habiba was the 5th place winner for our #pitch final challenge, coming in strong with a great idea for Nigerian telemedicine:

Telemedicine is underexplored in Nigeria and it is one of the ways by which health care can be readily and easily accessed.
The pandemic also made countries like Nigeria see reasons why telemedicine is important. During the pandemic, many clinics were shut and people had difficulty accessing medical care or even refilling their drug prescription due to lockdowns. If there was a platform for people to still access healthcare even in the minimum, without going to the hospital, many more people will comply with the lockdown rules and still access health happily.

After the ease of lockdowns and reopening of many clinics, these clinics will have an overflow of patients for various reasons putting a lot of strain on the healthcare providers, worsening the pre-pandemic hospital problems such as long queues, long waiting hours, etc. Flexihealth seeks to use simple technology to control crowd and flow of patients while reaching out to more people in their homes.
